A police pursuit in Indio ended with a pretty big explosion on Friday when a Honda Civic plowed into a propane tank.
A cop tried to pull over the suspect after he ran a red light on Highway 111 and Clinton, reports KMIR. The suspect instead led cops on a high speed pursuit reaching speeds of up to 85 miles per hour.
The chase ended when the suspect crashed into a propane tank near the One Stop Shoppe in Indio. The Civic burt into flames and the suspect got out of the car only to be quickly apprehended by police.
62 year-old Joseph Pignatore was arrested for drunk driving and evading police with possession of a controlled substance.
No one was injured in the chase or explosion.
