A Coachella man was arrested on Friday for assault with a deadly weapon, vehicle theft and driving under the influence in what police say was a road rage incident.
Police were called to Avenue 50 and Tyler Street in Coachella about 11:20 am for a road rage incident that involved a firearm, reports the Desert Sun.
During their investigation, a deputy spotted the suspect’s vehicle crashed into a palm grove near Vista Del Sur and Tyler Street, according to KESQ. The vehicle, 2013 GMC Arcadia, had been reported stolen from Bermuda Dunes on Thursday.
The suspect, Pedro Sebastian Rodriguez, was found hiding near the car.
Rodriguez, 40 was arrested and taken to the Riverside County Jail in Indio.
