An IHOP waitress was left no tip by a group of high school students after serving them on Saturday morning. Instead they wrote, “Build that wall, Trump Daddy,” and “Nah,” on their receipts.
“It’s very hurtful. I’ve never actually experienced anything like that so it really hurt my feelings. I’m a really friendly person, and I try to be nice to all my tables,” Rachel Mau told WTKR.
Mau, who works at the IHOP in Virginia Beach, Virginia and is of Filipino descent, told the TV station she is sharing her story so people realize words have a big impact.
“I feel sorry for people who do experience this. I now know how they feel, and that’s why I want to spread the word on why you shouldn’t treat people like that,” she said.
