Man detained after dog shot and killed in Palm Desert

An early morning shooting in Palm Desert resulted in the death of a dog on Wednesday.

Police were called to Acacia Drive after due to reports of a man brandishing a gun, reports the Desert Sun. They heard gunshots in the area while looking for the man and then found a dog suffering from a gunshot wound.

The dog was taken to a vet, where it died.

John Singleterry was booked on a felony warrant, reports KESQ. Sheriff’s deputies told the TV station that they expect more charges to be filed against him in connection to the dog’s death.
