The weekend is almost here and, since it is going to be a hot one in the desert, you are probably just thinking about closing the blinds. turning up the AC, and binging on House of Cards – which seems like a decent weekend. Cherry Festival
Beaumont is having its 99th (!) annual Cherry Festival Thursday through Sunday. The event includes a car show, rides, and live entertainment including Berlin, Brenton Wood, and Vince Neil of Motley Crue fame. Admission is $7.
Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Fest
This festival, running Friday through Sunday, features wine and balloons (of course) plus food, beer, and plenty of music. Here’s the roster:

Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival
Marlon Wayans
The comedian brings his stand up act to Morongo Casino in Cabazon on Friday for a 9pm show. All tickets are $29.
The Romantics
The band behind hits “What I Like About You” and “Taking in Your Sleep” perform at Vibe inside of Morongo Casino on Friday night at 10pm. All tickets are $20.
Block Party
Indio is having its 3rd Annual Discover Indio Community Block Party in Old Town Saturday night from 5 to 9pm. There will be a beer garden, plenty of food, a car show, kids activities, and live music performed by Band 212 and Sunday Funeral.
