A former local Sheriff’s deputy – and guy you should never, ever, ever date – repeatedly asked his fellow cops to pull over his ex-girlfriend, telling them they might find drugs in her car *wink, wink* and, surprise, she ended up finding drugs in her car.
Luckily for her, it was not the result of being pulled over. Instead, she happened to find cocaine under her seat on Christmas morning, 2012 on her own, reports the Desert Sun’s Brett Kelman. After an investigation, Deputy Brandon Klecker, who had been assigned to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Depart’s Thermal station, lost his job – though it should be noted, it was never proven he planted the drugs.
“Although this investigation did not find clear evidence that you planted drugs in her vehicle, it did determine you were egregious in your attempts to have her pulled over and arrested,” a letter to Klecker noted. “You made several attempts to have other deputies conduct traffic enforcement stops of (your ex) and even told them there should be drugs in the vehicle.”
The saga took place in 2012 / 2013, but details are just now coming to light as Klecker filed a lawsuit to get his job back, making everything public.
Klecker was also accused of asking another deputy to research his ex’s new boyfriend and chasing then chasing him a few months later.
He sounds like quite a gem, ladies.
The Desert Sun has more details (that I highly recommend reading) here.
