Taco Bell probably wouldn’t survive if not for the late night eaters on their way home from a night out partying. Now, those responsible enough to take a Lyft home at the end of the night can munch on a free Doritos Locos Taco.
That’s because Lyft has teamed up with the fast food chain and are adding “Taco Mode” to the app, according to AdWeek. They are rolling out the program this weekend in Orange County and will start expanding it from there, with the hope that it will go nationwide sometime next year.
“We realized that for every person who has asked their Lyft driver to make a pit stop at Taco Bell — and we’ve seen many — there are likely those who weren’t sure if this was possible,” Taco Bell CMO Marisa Thalberg said in a statement (via Business Insider). “With the advent of this fantastic partnership with Lyft, we will erase any lingering uncertainty and celebrate the ability to ‘ride-thru’ in Taco Mode.”
“Taco Mode” will let your Lyft driver know that you want to drive through the closest Taco Bell on your way home (or to your booty call) between 9 pm and 2 am.
Taco Bell is giving away the tacos as they know that once your drunk ass starts looking at the menu, you will probably order a ton more.
