A driver’s sneezing fit may have led them to strike two teenagers on the side of the road in Hemet.
The man was heading north in a 2004 Hyundai on State Street at around 35-40 mph when he began to sneeze repeatedly, according to ABC 7. Two teenagers – one on foot and one on a bicycle – were moving in the opposite direction of traffic on the side of the road and were hit by the man, who apparently did not see them, at about 12:20 pm on Monday.
Both teens were hospitalized, reports the Press Enterprise. The 16-year-old who was on foot was listed in critical condition. The 17-year-old was in stable condition.
The driver suffered minor injuries.
Alcohol or drugs are not believed to have been a factor.
