Cathedral City is currently home to what seems like 7,000 fast food joints, but the mayor is looking to add one more.
Cathedral City Mayor Stan Henry says that bringing an In-N-Out Burger to the city is one of the main items on his to-do list.
“This is one of my top priorities,” Henry told the Uken Report. “It’s a name brand that brings recognition to a community. One of my priorities is to bring people to the downtown.”
Henry said that on a scale of 1 to 10, there is about a “seven or eight” chance to iconic burger restaurant comes to Cathedral City. He added that a representative for the company has met with city representatives in the past and will be in town again this month to look at locations.
The Mayor told the Uken report that they would only allow In-N-Out along Highway 111 in and around Trader Joe’s and not on Date Palm Drive or East Palm Canyon Drive.
If In-N-out does come to Cathedral City, it be the fourth restaurant in or near the Coachella Valley (Indio, La Quinta, Thousand Palms, and Cabazon).
