Productivity at almost every government agency came to a screeching halt for several hours on Friday so elected officials and city employees could pat themselves on the back for bumbling through and finally completing less than 5% of the CV Link at a ribbon cutting ceremony. As the Desert Sun notes, the mayor of La Quinta came prepared with a joke.
As La Quinta Mayor Linda Evans took the stage to make introductory remarks, she snagged a selfie with Palm Desert Councilwoman Jan Harnik and Indio Mayor Mike Wilson and said: “I’ll make sure Rancho Mirage gets a copy.
