It’s the last weekend before festival season takes over the Coachella Valley. That also means it’s the last big weekend of Snow Bird Season! While we all contemplate how much nicer it will be driving Highway 111 without dodging all of those out-of-state plates, let’s also check out the best stuff happening in Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley this weekend.
Gin Blossoms | Saturday
They found out about you-ouuu. The Spa Resort Casino’s Concerts Under the Palms Concert Series concludes with the Gin Blossoms on Saturday night. The band is best known for the 90s hits “Hey Jealousy” and “Found Out About You” and will hit the stage at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $30 and $40.
Brew at the Zoo | Saturday
The Living Desert’s annual fundraiser has plenty of beer tasting, food, live entertainment and what would a Living Desert event be without some animals? It’s also National Beer Day, so it’s pretty much a required that you have a beer. Presale tickets are $75 and they go up to $85 if you wait until the day of the event. Members of the zoo get a discount to Brew at the Zoo, which will run from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.
Marlon Wayans | Saturday
The comic known for his roles in “White Chicks” and “Scary Movie” takes the stage in the showroom at Spotlight 29 Casino for an 8 pm show. Tickets run $25 to $45.
Coachella Mariachi Festival | Saturday
The City of Coachella is throwing a Mariachi Fest! There will be, of course, mariachi music plus folklorico dancing, food and a beer garden available. The event is free to attend and begins at 5 pm at Veterans Memorial Park on April 7th. The event begins at 5pm.
Great White | Sunday
The rockers known for “Once Bitten, Twice Shy” and “Rock Me” head to the Big Rock Pub in La Quinta for a Sunday night acoustic show. General admission is $10 with reserved seats available for $35 and $55. Showtime is 7 pm.
