Fontana man kills friend during argument over who gets to sit in the front seat of car

A Fontana man was arrested after police say he fatally shot his friend during an argument about sitting in the front seat of a car.

Police were called to a home on Coleen Street a little before 10 pm on Sunday. They found 19-year-old Jalen Wilson on the street suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest, reports ABC 7.

Investigators determined that Wilson had been involved in an argument with Sergio Orozco, 19, about who would sit in the front passenger seat of a car that was being driven by a third man. Police say Orozco pulled out a gun and shot Wilson in the chest during the argument.

Wilson was taken to the hospital where he died. Orozco was located in San Clemente on Monday and arrested.

Police told CBS LA that Wilson and Orozco had been friends since going to high school together.

“These are not individuals that you would suspect of being involved in crimes like this,” said Fontana Police Oficer Jay Sayeh. “None of them had really a history or anything like that.”
