A Palm Springs man was pronounced dead on Friday night on the Wellman’s Divide Trail, according to the The Riverside County Coroner’s office.
Sean Planck, 50, was pronounced dead at 8:48 pm on the trail, which is just north of the Pacific Crest Trail and northeast of Idyllwild.
The Wellman’s Divide trail is part of the route that connects the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway to the trails to the San Jacinto peak.
No additional information was released.
