A 24-year old man was arrested in Hemet on Saturday on weapons and child endangerment charges. He is also suspected of pretending to be a law enforcement officer.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department conducted a parole compliance check at the residence of Jeovanny Landeros on Fruitvale Avenue. Deputies discovered evidence that Landeros had been engaged in impersonating officials from law enforcement, according to City News Service, including a badge and a white 2015 Mercedes-Benz which had red-and-blue flashing LED lights in the windshield.
“Investigators believe Landeros may have used these items to commit … crimes or contact unsuspecting victims (while) posing as a law enforcement officer,” officials stated. “These crimes may have gone unnoticed by a potential victim.”
Landeros was arrested Saturday and booked on suspicion of possession of an assault weapon, being a felon in possession of a firearm and child endangerment.
