A person is dead after they were involved in a single-vehicle crash in Rancho Mirage Monday night.
The collision happened about 9:50 pm on Bob Hope Drive and Highway 111, reports the Desert Sun. The driver died at the scene.
A witness told KESQ that the vehicle was speeding and crashed into a palm tree.

Authorities are investigating and have not confirmed if speed, alcohol or drugs were a factor.
