Two found dead behind La Quinta home in apparent murder-suicide

The Riverside County Coroner’s Office has released the names of two people found dead near a home in the Monticello neighborhood of La Quinta on Monday.

44-year-old Ada Heintz & 59-year-old Herman Heintz were found behind a home on Independence Way. Authorities believe it was murder-suicide, according to KESQ.

“Officers arrived and located a female on the property with a fatal gunshot wound. The female has been identified as, 44-year-old Ada Heintz,” The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department stated in a press release. “Officers located a deceased male with a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside of the residence. The male has been identified as Ada’s husband, 59-year-old Herman Heintz.”

Authorities were called about 9 am Monday, according to a Facebook post from the department:

According to KESQ, the bodies of a man and woman were found behind a residence Monday morning.

There is no threat to public safety, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and officials are asking the public to stay clear of the area during the investigation.
