A man is dead after crashing into another vehicle while fleeing police and driving the wrong way on the 60 Freeway through the Badlands late Sunday night.
The 28-year-old Moreno Valley man crashed a tan 1998 Toyota Corolla into a blue 2018 Kia Nitro in the slow lane of the 60 after driving the wrong way for three miles, according to Patch. CHP officials said the man was driving faster than 80 miles per hour westbound in the eastbound lanes on the 60 near Jack Rabbit Trail.
The man was taken to the hospital where he died.
The driver of the Kia, a 37-year-old woman from Norwalk, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
There was no word on why police were pursuing the driver.
