A 23-year-old La Quinta man who was shot by a sheriff’s deputy last week was charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer.
Christopher Curci was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after an officer shot him on Avenida Montezuma, according to Patch. He is accused of trying to kill two men with a rock, then assaulting two sheriff’s deputies, also with a rock.

He also faces two counts of burglary and a count of making criminal threats.
Curci pleaded not guilty to all charges Tuesday afternoon. He is being held on $1 million bail.
