A cyclist was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle on Highway 111 in Indian Wells on Monday morning.
The crash happened a little before 11 am near the intersection of Highway 111 and Cook Street, according to KESQ.
The bicyclist was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The name of the cyclist was not released, but officials told the Desert Sun it was an adult male.
The driver of the vehicle, a minivan, stayed on scene and is cooperating with officials.
Drugs or alcohol do not appear to have played a role in the collision.
Police have closed Highway 111 westbound from Eldorado Drive to Cook Street for the investigation – which is expected to take a few hours.
