Cathedral City is building a $1.6 million stage in its new downtown amphitheater

Last week, the Cathedral City city council approved a $1.675 million contract build a stage structure in new Cathedral City Community Amphitheater.

The new park, which will cost $4.5 million in total, will be at the corner of Avenida Lalo Guerrero and Cathedral Canyon Drive. In addition to the stage, the area will also include walking trails, children’s play area, restrooms, concession stand, and infrastructure to host food truck events, concerts, stage performances, art shows, and the cities festival’s – including the super weird ones.

The city says that once completed, the 2.5 acre park will have a seating capacity of 2,909 people for concerts.

It’s expected to be complete by the end of 2019.
