The Ontario arena that you have known forever as Citizens Business Bank Arena will have a new name on July 1 as Toyota has inked a 10-year naming rights deal with the facility.
Toyota Arena will be the new name for the 10,000-seat facility, located where The 10 meets The 15 in the IE.
“We’re thrilled to be a part of the community and support this wonderful entertainment venue that has entertained so many families, sports fans, residents and visitors over the years,” said Cliff Cummings, President of the Southern California Toyota Dealers Association in a press release. “We look forward to an active and engaged partnership to continue building relationships through the best entertainment venue in the Inland Empire.”
Of course, like all these things, we will probably still call the place Citizens Business Bank Arena for at least the next 15 years the way I still refer to the outdoor venue in Glen Helen as Blockbuster Amphitheater – even though it has had like three or four other names since then and there’s literally only one Blockbuster video store left in America.
Naming rights are weird.
Upcoming shows at Toyota Arena include WWE Smackdown, Toby Keith, and Judas Priest. Get more info here.
