A La Quinta woman is dead after a crash in the La Quinta Cove on Wednesday night.
Police were called to the roundabout at Calle Sinaloa and Eisenhower a little after 10 pm, according to the Desert Sun. Miki Cortez, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation determined the victim failed to negotiate the roundabout and collided with a concrete sign.
The city is currently adding multiple new roundabouts to the area.

I have been following the Miki Cortez roundabout accident and it puzzles me how she could not have seen it the slow down nearing the section is evident the outside lane arrows you to merge and it is well lite. Did she have a stroke or heart problem prior to the impact? Was she texting? There are so many unanswered question. My deepest condolences to her family . Prayers ,light and love to you.
