Thanksgiving Storm | Here’s how much rain is predicted in the Coachella Valley

Typically, a Palm Springs Thanksgiving is a day full of sunshine, hiking, golf, and maybe even turkey dinner by the pool. But, thanks to a pretty big storm moving into the Coachella Valley on Wednesday, that doesn’t look like it will be the case this year. So, how much rain will the desert get?

According to the National Weather Service, Palm Springs should see somewhere between .5 and an inch of rain to fall between Wednesday and Friday. The expected amount decreases as you move east, with Thermal predicted to see somewhere between .25 and .5 inches of rainfall.

Up in the mountains of Idyllwild, anywhere from 2 to 3 inches is expected, so the washes in the Coachella Valley should be very full these next few days, so please, drive carefully.

Meanwhile, other parts of California are forecasted to get slammed with rain and snow – so, if you have somewhere to be for Thanksgiving, try to get there now. And, if you can’t do that and have to travel on Wednesday or Thursday, use caution out there as, well, it’s Southern California and the freeways are bad enough during a Holiday and now you throw in rain and, yeah, it’s gonna be bad.

Good luck. Stay safe. Eat all the turkey!
