A 28-year-old Joshua Tree man was arrested on Saturday after a woman told police that he punched and killed her nine-week-old kitten.
Deputies were called to the 62400 block of 29 Palms Highway about 8:15 am on the morning of December 14, according to Z107.7. A woman told deputies that her boyfriend punched her cat.
The animal died from its injuries.
The boyfriend, later identified as Daniel Hernandez, was not at the scene by the time deputies arrived. Police located Hernandez at the residence on January 4 at 3 am and arrested him for investigation of felony animal cruelty.
