A documented gang member was arrested on Friday after police say they found multiple firearms as well as illegal drugs at his Desert Hot Springs residence.
The Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force, with the assistance of Riverside County Sheriff’s Department SWAT, served a weapons related search warrant at a residence on Corkill Road about 1 pm, according to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
During the service of the search warrant documented gang member, Robert Ramos, 23 of Desert Hot Springs, fled from the residence on foot before being taken into custody a short distance away. Task Force Officers located multiple firearms and narcotics at Ramos’ residence.
Ramos is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition. Police say Ramos also had an active felony arrest warrant for parole violation.
Task Force Officers located a 9mm Glock handgun, .45 caliber Glock handgun, .40 caliber Glock handgun, Smith and Wesson .38 Special revolver, and an AR-15 rifle at the residence. Further investigation revealed that the 9mm Glock handgun was previously reported stolen. Also located were several high capacity magazines and ammunition.
Task Force Officers collected methamphetamine, several MDMA pills (ecstasy), and several Xanax pills.
Ramos was arrested for his outstanding Felony Parole Violation Warrant, Being a Felon in Possession of Firearms and Ammunition, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of Narcotics with a Loaded Firearm, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of MDMA, and Possession of Dangerous Drugs.
