If your plans involve heading east on the 10 Freeway over the next couple of weekends, you may want to give yourself plenty of extra time thanks to some lane and ramp closures for a repaving project.
Via the Press Enterprise:
At 10 p.m. Friday, the Live Oak Canyon Road on-ramp and nearby slow lanes, Nos. 3 and 4, will close and not open again until 5 a.m. Monday, according to Caltrans. The same closure is slated for the following weekend, Feb. 28 through March 2.
Next month the 55-hour closures are planned at the next interchange to the east. At 10 p.m. March 6, the County Line Road off-ramp will close and open again March 9. The following weekend the fast lanes will be closed at County Line Road.
Caltrans is also planning some overnight weekday lane and ramp closures over the next few weeks as part of the $33 million project. And yeah, like all improvement projects, it should be nice when it’s done, but a bit of a pain in the ass while it’s happening.
Bottom line: Give yourself plenty of time if you are headed that way and check your Waze or Google Maps or whatever you prefer to monitor any potential traffic jams.
