A 32-year-old Thermal man was arrested on Tuesday after police say he tried to assault his grandmother and uncle with a knife.
Police were called to a home on Calle Empalme about 9 am, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Department. And investigation revealed that known gang member Juan Macias, of Coachella, attempted to assault his grandmother and uncle with a knife after he forced his way into their residence.
One of the victims sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene.
Macias was taken into custody and booked at the Riverside County Jail in the city of Indio for assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, vandalism, and violation of a gang injunction.
An uninvolved male, identified as known gang member Juan Macias Gonzalez, 29 of Coachella, was also contacted at the residence. He was found to have a felony narcotic warrant and was also arrested and booked.
