Two men were arrested on Tuesday in connection with thefts at coin-cashing machines in the Coachella Valley.
Police began investigating after being called on December 26 about the theft of a Coinstar machine on Grapefruit Blvd. in Coachella, according to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Investigators linked the crime to a similar theft at a Coinstar machine in Indio.
On Tuesday, Christopher Henry, 43, of Beaumont, and Shawn Stewart, 35, of Redlands, were taken into custody on suspicion of burglary, grand theft and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Officials say that during the service of the search warrant, coins, packaging, a coin counter and stolen Coinstar property was located.
