A motorcycle rider was killed and another person injured in a crash near Desert Hot Springs on Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened about 12:19 pm at highway 62 and Pierson Boulevard, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Update 4/28: The motorcyclist has been identified as 27-year-old Branden Ocampo, of Perris, according to the Desert Sun.

The CHP told City News Service (via Patch) that the SUV was traveling westbound on Pierson Boulevard when it struck the motorcycle, which ended up beneath the SUV.
According to KESQ, the female driver of the car was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. There were no other passengers involved.
