Welcome to 5 Things to Know – a daily rundown of things you might want to be aware of if you live in, visit, or just like being aware about what’s going on in Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley. As always, thank you for your continued support of Cactus Hugs.
1) The Election
Man, this thing has to end at some point, yeah? Well, it’s not here yet…and it looks like it is costing many of us sleep:

Locally, they are still counting as well. The Desert Sun is tracking the results here.

3) Police investigating homicide in Indio park
A man was pronounced dead at the scene after police were called to Yucca Park a little before 3 am on Thursday. Deputies attempted life-saving measures, but the man, who had been shot, eventually passed away.
An investigation is underway.
4) Cool temps and maybe even some snow is on the way
I hope you like fall, my dear reader…because it’s going to feel much more like it soon:

5) A delicious autumn dessert recipe
Okay, so there’s a lot going on right now and none of us can handle a fifth story right now, so how about a delicious dessert instead. Here’s one of my favorite recipes this time of year…
- Grab a bag of Halloween candy (always on sale this time of year)
- Open bag and have at it! You deserve this after this week!!
Enjoy.
Cactus Hugs is taking a 3-day weekend. See you Monday.
Thanks for the support.
