Welcome to 5 Things to Know – a daily rundown of things you might want to be aware of if you live in, visit, or just like being aware about what’s going on in Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley. As always, thank you for your continued support of Cactus Hugs.
1) The Election
The Presidential race is over…well, to anyone who has been following how fair, free, and transparent they really were. For everyone else, it’s been time to get weird and embrace conspiracy theories and scream on Facebook that they are leaving for Parlor and then not actually leaving for Parlor and instead just continue to scream and post more conspiracy theories on Facebook.
How weird are things currently? Well, just a couple days after Trump’s campaign claimed that the votes of Nevada’s active military and their families shouldn’t be counted and saw Rudy Giuliani hold a press conference at Four Seasons Total Landscaping, Monday saw his supporters outside the Orange County registrar’s office demanding a recount despite the fact that: a) the votes are still being counted and, b) their preferred candidate is over four million votes behind Joe Biden in the state of California:

Because, clearly, everything is rigged and a conspiracy…except four years ago, when it was totally fine and acceptable.

BREAKING—El Paso #COVID19 deaths surging so fast, they now need **10** mobile morgues to store deceased bodies, up from 4 last week. 4 new mobile morgues will goto funeral homes directly. El Paso judge also extending shutdown until hospitals recover. https://t.co/cIy7la33AH pic.twitter.com/uQLiGy5DNQ

A Week of Cool!
Coachella Valley temperatures will remain 10 to 15-degrees below normal today under mostly sunny skies. Although those highs will warm-up a bit the rest of this week into the low, then, middle-70s, those numbers will still be running below average.@NBCPalmSprings pic.twitter.com/rZJFPxKHGi— Jerry ‘The Steffler’ Steffen (@JerrySteffen) November 9, 2020
