A Tennessee man was sentenced to 15 years in prison last week after posting a selfie with a gun on Facebook.
Malik First Born Allah Farrad (formerly Marvin Buckles), 42, was sentenced to 188 months for his conviction last year to a charge of being a felon in possession of a gun – a conviction that was based on a selfie that he posted on Facebook where he held a .45-caliber handgun.
Investigators also found a Facebook photo he posted of three handguns on top of the toilet seat in his bathroom.
Farrad already had “numerous felony convictions for drug, gun, and violent offenses” – so, it was illegal for him to be in possession of the weapons.
