Monday’s annual Date Festival parade in Indio sounds like it was a bit of a bummer after one of the horses participating in the event died during the festivities.
An Indio Police Department spokesman told KESQ that the horse had either a “major heart attack or stroke” and that officers screened off the scene to “ease the drama” for those watching.
It still sounds like it was pretty traumatic for those in attendance.
So my sister went to the Date Festival today. She was watching the parade when minutes into it a horse slipped, slid across the street and hit its head against the curb so hard that it died.
