Alleged ‘Satchel Bandit’ arrested for bank robberies in San Bernardino, Riverside counties

A Lake Arrowhead police say is linked to a dozen bank robberies in San Bernardino and Riverside counties was arrested on Wednesday.

Bryce Auten, 31, who was dubbed the “Satchel Bandit” due to the type of bad he carried into the banks during the robberies, was arrested on suspicion of robbery by authorities at his home, reports The Daily Bulletin.

“Several search warrants were conducted at locations related to Bryce Auten and evidence connecting him to the robberies was located,” Fontana Police Sgt. Kevin Goltara told the Fontana Herald News.

Investigators believe Auten is responsible for 12 bank robberies in Redlands, Riverside, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Moreno Valley, Jurupa Valley, Menifee and Eastvale.
