Alternative radio returns to Palm Springs with Alt 101.5

Alt 101.5 debuted on the airwaves of the Palm Springs radio market last week. The station plays a mix of alternative music including Foo Fighters, Green Day, Portugal the Man, Muse, and more.

The station is part of Marker Broadcasting, according to Radio Insight. The company purchased a 10 watt channel from the Educational Media Foundation in October and upgraded the signal to 250 watts.

This marks the first time alt rock has been played on Coachella Valley since M99.5 switched to classic rock ten years ago.

Update: the radio station has brought on a familiar voice on weekday afternoons.
