When it coms to grocery shopping, Americans prefer stores like Trader Joe’s and Aldi over Walmart and Albertson’s, according to a new study.
Marketforce polled almost 13,000 Americans in March and asked them to rate the grocery stores the shopped at and how likely they were to recommend that store to others. Each store was then given a percentage core, with a higher number being better.
Here were the results:
- Publix: 77%
- Wegmans: 77%
- Trader Joe’s: 76%
- H-E-B: 69%
- Aldi: 68%
- Harris Teeter: 66%
- Hy-Vee: 65%
- Costco: 65%
- WinCo Foods: 62%
- Whole Foods: 61%
Some other notable stores in the study: Target (56%), Albertson’s (49%), and Walmart (31%).
The study also broke down different stores by category. Shoppers said the found the best value at WinCo and Aldi, Trader Joe’s and Publix had the friendliest cashiers, and Publix and Aldi had the fastest checkouts – I guess bagging your own groceries moves things along a bit.
