Rain has already begun falling around California and appears to be on the way to the Palm Springs area.
The best shot for rain in the desert appears to be Thursday afternoon.

And, while other parts of Southern California could see as much as four inches (!) of rain (along with a possible 5 feet of snow in the Sierra Nevadas), the Palm Springs area is expected to only see about .1 to .25 inches of the wet stuff.

Still, it being the desert, that might be enough to flood some roads, make everyone nutty, and you probably will want to make sure your wiper blades didn’t burn to a crisp over the long hot summer.
And this doesn’t appear to be a one and done deal, more rain could be on the way, according to the weather forecast – with a 20% chance on Saturday in the Coachella Valley and a 50% chance the middle of next week.
