After responding to a fire at a home in Desert Hot Springs, authorities discovered a marijuana growing operation with more than 700 plants inside.
Fire crews responded to a home on Osprey Lane at about 5:45 am Tuesday morning, according to a Facebook post from the Desert Hot Springs Police Department. The fire was quickly contained and investigators determined the cause was the result of faulty electrical wiring which was connected to an illegal marijuana grow.

A search warrant was executed and over 700 marijuana plants, with a street value of a million bucks, were seized.
The occupants of the home fled before authorities arrived.
