The L.A. Times is reporting that President Obama and his wife, Michelle, could be the owners of a home in Rancho Mirage before the end of July. The place, on Thunderbird Mesa Drive, is valued at 4.25 million dollars (he is going to have to start making some big money speeches) and is listed as being in escrow on the real estate agent’s web page.
While The White House said “rumors regarding a home in Rancho Mirage are not true,”, The LA Times reports:
But area real estate agents, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the Obamas are the buyers of the Rancho Mirage home. Listing agents Marc Lange and Carl Blea of HOM Sotheby’s International declined to comment.
Well, just be glad Coachella Valley real estate agents are not in charge of National Security.
The 8,232-square-foot compound sits adjacent to a bighorn sheep preserve on a 3.29-acre hilltop with panoramic views. It includes a gym, four bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and a “motivated seller” (gee, why didn’t we all jump at ths?) There is also a 2,000-square-foot casita, a pool with a 20-foot waterfall, a gym, a rock lagoon, two spas, elevators, a misting system, and a putting green with a sand trap.
Time will tell if the reports are true, and if so: be sure not to rent it out to anyone under 30 or go on the roof Mr. President.
