KAABOO Del Mar is like many music festivals in that it offers a schedule jam-packed with musicians performing on a number of stages over the course of three days. But, unlike most other festivals, KAABOO Del Mar, taking place in September north of San Diego, offers up even more than that – by offering shows by comedians, spa and beauty indulgences, and even a Las Vegas-style pool party. Here’s what to know about BASK.
The festival teams up each year with the MGM Grand’s Wet Republic to put on the pool party that allows some festival goers to take in the concert while taking a swim, hanging out in a cabana, or just having a drink poolside. The pool is positioned so that guests have a great view the main stage while also enjoying other activities.
“KAABOO was built on the concept of indulgent experiences, and we believed that having a pool club in proximity to one of our main stages was a unique and fun element of the experience,” Jason Felts, Chief Brand + Marketing Officer of KAABOO, told Cactus Hugs. “Guests love that they can see the action at the Grandview stage, but also be hanging out in the pool or playing beach games at BASK, presented in partnership with MGM Grand’s Wet Republic. When the stage is dark, we have local DJs in BASK to keep the party going.”
And, for those headed to BASK, they may want to plan on arriving early – as the pool party offers a Happy Hour from 1:30 to 4:30 – with drinks 50% off.
Making BASK happen is no easy task. The festival works year-round to make it happen.
“Our operational team works year-round to create the layout and structures that bring experiences like BASK to life,” says Felts. “Just like any large construction project, the team creates the layout, secures the permitting and ensures that the experience will provide guests with a safe and fun experience.”
A Day pass to BASK at KAABOO starts at $35 (do note that you also need a pass to the festival). A pass for the entire weekend goes for $100.
Those looking to really live it up at BASK at KAABOO Del Mar can opt instead for a Cabana, which start at $1,250 per day.
