Si Bon

Yes, a Belgian menu means waffles – and they have some good ones.  But they also have crepes, omelettes, pancakes and more.  In addition to their regular breakfast menu, this spot (found in the Albertson’s center at Monterey and Country Club) also offers a special menu for Sunday brunch and a full bar which includes Bloody Marys and mimosas.

Acqua California Bistro

Perhaps known best for their “All-Day Happy Hour,” this spot has both indoor dining and an adjacent patio on the water at the River in Rancho Mirage.  Their breakfast menu has everything from corned beef hash to crepes to a bagel and smoked salmon.  Acqua does brunch on Sundays, with a 3-course menu for $19.99 per person – which includes an appetizer, a dessert, and, in between, a main course with options including a bay shrimp salad, steak and eggs, and a Maui onion pizza.

Desmond’s at the S

The S is one of the many gated country clubs you will find in the Coachella Valley, but, unlike most, this one allows you, Joe Public, in to enjoy the food and drink at its restaurant, Desmond’s.  The regular breakfast menu has items include a breakfast burrito, avocado toast, and a 3-egg omelette.  For Sunday Brunch, the menu is stepped a bit with a prime rib hash, smoked salmon frittata, and lox plate.  Plus drink alert: ? $5 Bloody Marys and $10 bottomless mimosas ?.

The Palms Cafe

You will find the Palms Cafe in the Atrium shopping complex, across the street from City Hall. The menu includes a big selection of 2-egg combos served with your choice of home fries, hash browns, cottage cheese, sliced tomatoes or fresh fruit. They also have pancakes, omelettes, breakfast burritos, and biscuits served with a heaping spoon-full of gravy.

Koffi

The eastern-most spot in the valley for local coffee shop chain can be found just a stone’s throw away from the Pink Elephant Car Wash.  While they are, not surprisingly, known more for their coffee options like espressos, iced coffees, and teas, Koffi also has a large selection of gourmet cinnamon rolls, muffins, oatmeal and granola blend loaded cereal bowls, breakfast bagels, and more.
