Morning anchor Bianca Rae has exited KESQ for a job at Spectrum 1 News SoCal.
Rae said goodbye to viewers during the last few moments of the KESQ morning show on Friday, telling the audience that she “is getting the chance to go to the market I have always dreamed of working…that’s Los Angeles.”
She had been co-anchoring the morning show with Jeff Stahl and Weather Guesser Jerry Steffen on KESQ since June, 2015. She had been with the television station for seven years.
Rae asked viewers to follow her on Instagram for future updates and promised to continue her “important work” with her non-profit Bianca Rae Foundation.

Spectrum News 1 SoCal is scheduled to launch in November and has promised to focus on in-depth reporting and long-form storytelling. The channel has said it will hire 125 employees in all, including 30 multimedia reporters.
Only Spectrum customers will have access to Spectrum 1 News – which will have a limited reach of only about 25% of the estimated 5.5 million TV homes in Los Angeles area. For those with the channel, it will automatically play as soon as the TV is first switched on.
No word yet on what time or shows Bianca Rae will be seen on, but it appears she has begun to film segments for the channel.
