A 52-year-old Placentia man was arrested Sunday after he crashed into a power pole for what police say is his ninth DUI since 2011.
Cops were called to a where a car had crashed into an electrical box, leaving live wires under the car, reports ABC 7. Derek Stacy Haskayne, the driver of the car, was arrested for driving under the influence.
Police say he had eight previous DUI convictions, all in Orange County, and all since 2011. He was on Post-Release Community Supervision for a prior felony DUI, according to FOX 11.
Haskayne was also arrested for driving on a license that had been suspended for DUI, driving without a court-ordered ignition interlock device, and violation of DUI probation.
