[media-credit name=”Flickr” align=”aligncenter” width=”300″][/media-credit]If you gazed up into the San Jacinto Mountains over the past couple of nights then you may have noticed something missing. The light at the The Palm Springs Tramway was out. But why? Could it be:
- The Tramway closed down?
- The Tramway forgot to pay their electric bill?
- The newly armed security guards shot the lights out ?
No, shockingly it was because a light bulb went out. The Desert Sun reports:
Greg Purdy, a spokesman for the tram, said Tuesday that a 1,000-watt bulb burned out and it took a few days for a new one to arrive.
“We received about a half-dozen emails and phone calls from valley residents wondering why it was out,” he said in an email to The Desert Sun. “People have grown so accustomed to seeing it on the mountain, they (understandably) missed it while it was off.”
So now we know that if it was something tragic, maybe 5 or 6 people would care enough to check with a call or email. We also know that The Tram orders their light bulbs on an “as needed basis”.
