Update: The ashes have been returned.
A woman in Palm Desert would like whoever stole the box containing her recently deceased father’s ashes from her car to kindly return them.

The box was taken out of the car of Reegan Richter on Sunday night. Police believe that the thief took advantage of the window being slightly down to pry open the lock and enter the vehicle. That is when the thief took the cardboard box all while leaving behind prescription drugs and cash in the center console.
