Car to car shooting causes brief shutdown of 10 Freeway

Authorities shut down a portion of the 10 Freeway Thursday evening to investigate a vehicle to vehicle shooting.

According to KESQ, the shooting happened at noon and a 26-year-old Desert Hot Springs man was shot. He drove himself to the hospital and it is not clear how severe his injuries were.

Once police learned of the shooting, they briefly closed a westbound portion of the freeway at Washington Street to investigate from 6:30 pm to 7:12 pm, reports KMIR.
