Looks like Cathedral City’s “dollar theater” is making a comeback.
The low-price movie theater. which was often referred to as the “Dollar Theater” due to its low ticket prices, was closed by Cinemark in December of last year. But now it looks like it will reopen soon as “Regency Theaters – Cathedral City 10”, according to the company’s website. The site also proclaims the theater will be the “Coachella Valley’s best bargain for movies” – though no ticket prices are listed.
Regency Theater’s website for the location notes that the theater is “coming soon,” but does not list an opening date. The recorded message for the phone number on the website says a “grand opening” will happen this fall, but does not list a date.
We have reached out to Regency Theaters several times for more information and will update this post if and when it comes in.
The movie theater is located at 34491 Date Palm Drive in Cathedral City.
