Cathedral City might ban the sale of fireworks in the city

Cathedral City will likely consider banning the sale fireworks during Wednesday night’s city council meeting.

According to the Desert Sun, fireworks have been a problem within the city for several years, and the council is expected to vote on banning the sale of all fireworks, including those deemed “safe and sane.”

If passed, Cathedral City would join Indian Wells, La Quinta, Palm Desert, Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, and the unincorporated areas of Riverside County in not allowing firework sales.

Desert Hot Springs, Coachella and Indio still allow fireworks sales.
