Cathedral City voted Wednesday to allow the growing of medical marijuana in the city in some areas.
Cannabis manufacturing will be allowed in light industrial zones, reports The Desert Sun. Any grow facilities must be located at least 600 feet from schools or youth centers, 300 feet from homes, and 250 feet from Palm Canyon Drive.
The city joins Desert Hot Springs who approved growing medicinal cannabis in 2014 and now has 11 cultivation projects approved with eight more seeking approval.
