You may have seen the results of a survey that has been posted just about everywhere this week in which Chik-fil-A was voted America’s favorite fast food restaurant, besting In-N-Out Burger because, sure, right, that’s accurate.
The report, which polled 7,600 consumers around the country and was published in Food & Wine, found that Chik-fil-A had a 79% “loyalty rating” which was higher than In-n-Out, which, btw, has a line of 50 cars at the drive-thru right now because, sure, In-N-Out customers are not loyal at all.
There is not a lot of explanation about how Chik-fil-A comes out on top of In-N-Out in the survey, but, and call me a skeptic here, I am starting to think all these surveys showing In-N-Out losing to another fast food joint in an online survey might just be a click-bait thing and, come to think of it, I am fine with that – as, seriously, anything that results in less people in front of me in the In-N-Out drive-thru on a Friday night, I am totally fine with.
Then again, the survey does seem plausible when you think about. It could very well be true that Americans prefer the Monday through Saturday taste of bland fried chicken to the fresh and unbelievably tasty ingredients of a Double Double the same way that many more Americans prefer watching Big Bang Theory instead of Barry or The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. And, yes, once again, I am fine with that, as anything that results me waiting less than 30 minutes for my animal-style burger makes me happy.
